Aron Kravits

Israeli artist born in Ukraine. He finished his art studies in 1992 at the Kharkiv School of Art. Along with his paintings, Kravits creates sceneries for the theater world (Habima Theater, Jerusalem Theater, Israel Opera, Beit Zvi and Tmuna Theater). Kravits’s early works centered around the figurative world; In his later works you can see a development towards the abstract – the works starts with a basic figurative subject, and soon the primary subject is covered with abstract expressionist layers that hide, join and add to the primary subject. Kravits uses thick layers of paint, in combination with other materials, such as newsprint and fabric, which add depth and complexity to his paintings. His works are exciting with their expressive colors and the combination of the real world and his inner world.
