Irena represents a third generation of artists in her family. She graduated from art studies in the city of Yaroslavl. Immigrated with her family to Israel in 1990 and has been living in Tiberias ever since. A selection of Irena’s works is shown: At the Museum of Russian Art – New Jersey, United States; In the Museum of Naive Art – Riga, Latvia; In the Museum of Plastic Arts – Tula, Russia; At Natalie Boldyreff Gallery – Paris, France; And in other galleries in Israel and abroad.

Her works were purchased by collectors in private collections in the United States, Germany, Israel, England, China, Russia and more. Irena, whose painting style is a combination of realism, symbolism, surrealism and naive art, has participated in many exhibitions in Israel and abroad. “I focus on a main motif – the rabbit as a symbol”. My connection to the rabbit has existed since my young childhood. In my search for the rabbit’s place in world culture, I found that the rabbit is a character that appears in many legends and myths around the world, from ancient times in different cultures, from America to the Far East and Africa to Europe. Myths link the rabbit to the moon, the sky and the sun, to fertility and awakening, to cunning and courage. The image of the rabbit is distinctly present in ancient ceramics, coins, seals, hieroglyphs and also in folk tales. The rabbit symbolizes for me pure love, which passes from me to my immediate environment, my family, my friends, my students, as well as to other people who cross my path in my life. I use images of animals to talk about people. More than that, about relationships between a man and a woman. After all, we are all a bit animals…”
