Eyal Segal
Eyal Segal, born in Arad (1982), is a multidisciplinary and international artist – he works in the mediums of video, painting, photography, and text. Presents many individual and group exhibitions in Israel and around the world. In Segal’s work, space serves not only as an almost exclusive starting point for dialogue (internal and with the audience alike) but also as a platform through which to examine memory, the heritage of the past, and the possibility of self-understanding. Physical space is a central motif in his work and serves as a starting point for self-interpretation. Past and present are connected in a concrete ‘place’; This idea is constantly woven into a powerful aesthetic point of view.
During his studies at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Tel Aviv (2006-2010), he began working as an assistant and then as the studio director of the artist Sigalit Landau, for a period of five years, until 2013, a year in which he broke into a personal career and presented his first solo exhibition at the Negev Museum of Art. (Beer Sheva, Israel), has since participated in numerous exhibitions at museums, art spaces, and international art festivals around the world
