Gennady Korolik

Gennady Korolik is an artist and woodblock printmaker who immigrated to Israel from Ukraine in 2022. Trained as a lawyer, his artistic practice stems from a long-standing engagement with craftsmanship, material, and form.
His work focuses on woodblock printing, a technique he approaches through three distinct methods of transferring natural wood textures onto paper. Korolik views each woodblock as a collaborative creation between nature and the artist—formed over decades, and sometimes centuries, through the life of the tree itself.
Each print is hand-printed and inherently unique. Korolik works exclusively with sections of fallen trees, which he sources from various countries, species, and organic forms. Through this process, he preserves the natural history embedded in the wood, transforming it into a contemporary visual language.
His works are designed to resonate within a wide range of spaces, including private interiors, offices, commercial spaces, hotel lobbies, and meeting rooms.
